We are extremely passionate about the food that we purchase and serve. All meat is supplied by local suppliers and is locally reared. We purchase our sausages from Lakes Speciality Foods, owned and operated by Paul Hevey and Dan Weston. Paul’s background is in butchery and Dan’s in farming. Together they have established a network of local farmers who supply some of the best meats you could wish for. Our Cumbrian Dry Cured bacon is supplied from Thomasons Butchery and Deli accross the road from us on Station Street, Keswick. It is cut thicker than usual and our guests appreciate it so much, they have been known to take some home with them. Brothers Bomber and Malcolm and their team are real 'food heroes' and a visit to them is a must. Our free range eggs are supplied by Thomas and Sheila Wilson at Scales Farm in Embleton, Keswick and our milk is delivered directly to us from the Clark family at Braithwaite Farm, Keswick.
Tomatoes are organic and bought on the vine to ensure the maximum flavour and freshness. Mushrooms are organic where possible.
All of our sausage, bacon and tomatoes are grilled to ensure a healthier breakfast.
Our Smoked Loch Fyne Kipper fillets are supplied by Brookside products www.tasteofthelakes.com. They are owned and operated by the Hodgson and Heywood families and are located in Maryport, Cumbria.
For the vegetarians amongst us, all of our tomatoes are grilled on a separate grill to ensure there is no contact with meat at any stage. A vegetarian cooked breakfast could consist of tasty vegetarian sausage, grilled tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, baken beans and eggs cooked to your liking
We can provide soya milk and various soya products for our guests if we are notified in advance and most diets are catered for to the same high standards.
